Alaska & Beyond
After we were married in 1990, we began planning the great trips of our lives: Alaska, Hawaii, driving down Route 1 from the top of Maine to the tip of Key West, wintering in places where it is warm, traveling through the Northeast at the peak of the autumn colors . . . and through all those discussions, Alaska was the one we most enjoyed dreaming about.
On July 1, 2019 we started our Great Alaskan Adventure. We hope you will check back often to find out what interesting tales we have to tell and photos to share as we travel over 12,000 miles from the Midwest, along the northern United States, into the western Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. And then ALASKA! The last part of the trip will include the three west coast states, across the Rockies to Colorado to visit Creekside Cellars, and back to our home in Northern Illinois.
Initially we will be covering “Travels With Ollie” from Our Great Alaskan Adventure. But please check back to find out where we’ll be going on our upcoming adventures, too. We hope you’ll enjoy traveling vicariously through our website. Happy travels! jmSme
Picture of the Day: Clematis vine at the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, AK. It makes me think of Audrey II (Twoey for short), the blood-thirsty plant in Little Shop of Horrors.
